Colorize output from command: ip address

The output from the command ip address provides voluminous information about your Ethernet interfaces. This is great but most of the time you just want to know the IP address and if the interface is up or down. The following version of the command gives you just that: ip -brief -color address.

I appended the following alias command to my ~/.bash_aliases file so I can just type ipaddr.

alias ipaddr="ip -brief -color address"

I picked up this tip from GNU World Order S12E25.
